Hay Fever, shock

Being an Indian I never really came across many people with Hay fever, infact, I thought it was just a cold with a fancy name given by westerners.

What a shock then when I realized I am suffering from hay fever too. At first I put it down to a freak coincidence, maybe even a sympathy cold when I others in this country with this cold but then I realized it just wasn't going away !

It turns out pollen and dust are 2 main reasons why I am feeling like this and I hate it, I feel low on energy, disgusting because I sneeze a lot and have runny nose, out of pocket because of needing to buy lots of tissues and always with a red/sore nose and eyes.

I hope this is just temporary while I adjust to this country, it's not nice having hay fever and now I realize it's not just a westerner thing, anyone from any race/background can have it...poor me :(

Bridal jewelry

Continuing from my last post, now that summer is here all of a sudden many many weddings will take place. I've already been invited to one and it's a work colleagues wedding.

She is Welsh but the groom is Indian. They have decided to go with a modern Asian wedding theme and that suits me fine. I'd need more guts to wear a full blown Asian dress (salwar kameez they call them...I think) so perhaps just add Indian jewelry to my outfit and I'll be ok (as long as I don't accidently buy bridal jewelry :p).

That's the plan anyway and I am looking forward to it. Asian weddings are very colorful and bright so I should fit in fine !

I have decided to go with asian-designs.com to buy my necklaces, check out the link and let me know what you think.

Summer is here

Now that the sun is out and a lot more skin is being shown ;) what is everyone planning to wear or buy for the summer?

I'd like to hear your ideas and maybe you can share a few links with me in particular blogs/websites that know what to get, whats in and hip and whats not.

last thing I want is to wear clothes that make me look awful or out of touch :p

I've been working hard so down to a size 12, I plan to show off all my hard work without being a slut lol so let me know what would work for a medium build lady in her (hmmm, not going to tell you my age :p) lol

Easter bunny

Easter is here and I love the extended holiday break, I mean, who wouldn't enjoy a 4 day weekend :)

This year I plan to go to an Easter party actually dressed as a bunny. I know, it's cheesy and corny and I would never try to do this normally but this year there is a slight twist to the norm. Each girl has to be a bling bunny, not just fluffy but bright and shiny.

Since I love bling, I accepted and bought a bunny outfit and laced myself with some new bling jewellery :D cannot wait, tomorrow !!!

If all goes well and I don't embaress myself too much then I will be brave and post pictures here (I must admit, I am actually very nervous about this lol).

So what is everyone else doing? has anyone had a bling bunny party also? if so, let me know what you did, how you felt etc lol

Happy Easter everyone.

JOBS!!!

I thought coming here would result in me finding really great jobs that will take me places, boy was I wrong.

After almost a year, still no great job. Don't get me wrong, my job is ok but it's not great and I really want a job that is colourful and exciting, much like my fondness for fashion jewelry.

If I could get a job working for designers then I would change my mind about living here but what with the economy being so bad, I don't really know if I can risk looking for another job right now. Maybe I'll wait for another year, things can only get better.

Other blogs

I've been reading many other blogs and have spotted some (which will remain a secret for now) which claim that they provide jewellery for shows such as BBC's Strictly come dancing.

One such blog belong to a costume jewellery shop. I visited the shop only to find the blog lied !!

The items described in the blog and on the show are 2 very different things. This blog and shop owner was simply using the show's success to promote their own shop. I was so disgusted by this that I decided I will never go to that shop again. Up until now I had ordered twice from that online shop but after reading their blog thoroughly, I decided they are liars and I hate liars.

To other jewellery lovers out there (and there are many). Do not fall for this type of lie and scam.

I am tempted to post a comment on their blog to tell them what I think of them but I'm too lady like to feel comfortable with that. Shame really.

Rant over :)

Been away for a long time

Hi all, sorry for being away for so long.

I have been out of work and desperatly looking for a new job (well isn't a lot of people right now?).

I'm hopeful a new job is right around the corner, last interview went really well.

Just so you know. I am still loving my costume jewellery items and will still be posting about them soon. I've been to the Asian Bridal Show 2009 as well so expect a few photos from that event soon :)
